Meteora / Delphi / Central Greece


DAY 1: We drive through the fertile plains of Boeotia, crossing the towns of Thebes, Levadia and Arachova to reach Delphi and the Temple of Apollo, situated in breathtaking scenery on the slopes of Mount Parnassus.
You will visit the Temple and the Museum, which contains masterpieces of ancient Greek sculpture, including the famous Charioteer. After our visit to the archaelogical sites you can have a luch before we begin our journey to Kalambaka. You will spend the night in Kalambaka before we begin the next morning our visit to Meteora Monasteries.
DAY 2: We visit the monasteries of Meteora which have priceless religious treasures. The monasteries give the impression that they stand between heaven and earth, over huge granite rocks. Meteora is the unique UNESCO World Heritage Site.
Upon completion of our visit to the Monasteries we will have luch before begining our return trip to Athens. We will also make a short stop at the Thermopylae (where we will visit the monument of the Battle of Thermopylae, where is the statue of Leonidas). Then we head back to Athens.

Olympia

Argolis / Olympia Tour

DAY 1: We start our journey driving west to the Isthmus of Corinth, a place of great historical and commercial importance to the city of ancient Corinth. At Corinth we will visit the archaeological sites, the museum and Acrocorinth. Then we will travel south, driving through picturesque villages to Mycenae which was the city of Agamemnon and the center of the Mycenean civilization. Once we visit the archaeological sites and the museum we will continue our trip to Nafplio which was the first capital of modern Greece. Lunch in the neoclassical lanes of the city will be an interesting stop. After lunch we will visit Akronafplia and Palamidi.
We continue our trip driving west through traditional villages of the Peloponnese until we reach ancient Olympia which was the place where the Olympic Games were born. We will stay overnight at a hotel.
DAY 2: In the morning we will visit the unique archaeological area of Ancient Olympia where the first Olympic Games took place from the year 776 B.C. to 393 A.D . The Olympic Games were held every four years, in honor of the god Zeus . Amongst decades of monuments, you will admire the Temple of Zeus, the Temple of Hera, the Philipeion, the Palestra, the Ancient Stadium, the Ancient Gymnasium, the Prytaneion, the Bouleuterion and the Leonidaion. Your knowledge will be complemented with the visit of the archaeological Museum, one of the most important museums in Greece with permanent exhibition of findings from the excavations, dating since prehistoric times. After your visit to the archaeological area we stop for Lunch to one of the traditional tavernas. After we start the return trip to Athens.
